“This message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.”
1 John 1:5 NLT
I am reminded of Acts 9 where Jesus stops Paul (at the time Saul) in his path toward killing off those who believe in Him. He appears as a light unlike any other in purity and his luminous power is enough to blind him, through His grace it was only for 3 days. But consider the symbolic method that Christ uses to redeem Paul in the pivot of a complete 180°. He appears to him in the form of light expressing he is the ultimate Savior that overpowers all darkness both inside and outside our own selfish philosophy and asks him “Why are you persecuting me?”. This shows we are connected to Christ as his body in the most authentic and deepest way. When we die, we die with him. It is just the same in how we live. We are not individuals living for self and for momentary pleasure, we are united through Christ and He is the Spirit that carries out our daily tasks when we let Him in after redeeming ourselves. The ultimate light. The Truth. The Igniter and The Revealer of all things hidden and suppressed in the stronghold grip of darkness.
