Believers shall not be attached to worldly possessions. Believers are to love God and one another, we are called to love people and to obey God. The term “world” isn’t referring to the actual planet but the people who operate or are controlled by sins. It’s a person not focused on the Lord. Ultimately we will never be fulfilled through worldly things, it’s not until we find Christ who will eternally fulfill us. So those who love the world cannot love God.
