The end times is a highly debated subject. Now John wasn’t referring to the end times in revelations, he does mention the “last hour” which at the time he was finding people who were against Christ. Now the apostles believed they also lived in a sense of the “end times” which started after the ascension of Christ. But the importance here is the antichrist, a person who will spread false lies about God and will deny the Father and the son. What we need more than ever is the truth, God directs us to it and without it we will crumble. So be strong in the faith fellow believers, look for the truth and the light. Don’t shy away from it, stand in it.
