“And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.”
1 John 5:14-15 NLT
Our relationship with God is unconditional. We don’t need to do anything to gain his love. But make sure that is reciprocated in your personal relationship with him. We are not so high and mighty that we should use God as a sugar daddy. When we ask him for things it is out of our faith and trust in seeking understanding for his will. Look to the example of Christ. “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” This is the mindset Christ had in his faith in the Father’s will over his own. It is inconsequential to make sure we do not over step the grace God gives. Feeling encouraged to ask for things but ultimately as his children, we recognize the importance of his will and it is the primary target within the purpose he already provided for us.
