JUDE 1:3 / BLOG

“Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people.”

Jude 1:3 NLT

I look back on when I was in a really dark place in my life and a key person who helped answer my questions and gave me the homework I needed to understand things was the chaplain of my ship CVN-74 and the person who I spoke to about baptizing me, and he did. I learned a lot and shifted my heart in a big way, the repentance I went through is something that the Church I currently attend has helped me through and now I am in the process of passing this example along. The point is, as Christians our time on earth is deeper than just utilizing God’s useful resources, but now we are to go out and make disciples in the name of Jesus Christ. Paul tells us in Romans 1, that sinners lead others into sin in a convincing way, which tells me it is an instinct of man that God planted within us to go and make “disciples”, only we aren’t recruiting people in the fleet of Satan, rather we are equipping disciples of Christ with the armor of God through the guidance of Scripture. And that’s the only way we’ll ever accomplish this mission, our purpose.
