“Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught. And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live. For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life, so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone.”
2 Peter 1:12-15 NLT
It never hurts to be reminded of the same truths. It keeps our minds set on what is true especially since we’re bombarded by false hoods 24/7. We must always meditate on God’s word and study it and that may come with hearing the same things over and over, but that’s good. Never feel finished. I encourage those greatly to please don’t just feel like you’re done, we’re to have the word imprinted on our hearts so that we may not stumble and that we may always be alert. Peter knows that even Christians who are aware of truth need to be reminded. We need to hear it again and again, to highlight the connection between what we know and what we will do with it. Peter made it part of his life’s work to feed the sheep. We need to remember we’re finite and our minds are small, but God is infinite. There’s so much we don’t know and it’s simply dumb to think that your finished and don’t need to know anymore and unwise. So please be encouraged to go deeper and to understand the basics or fundamentals.
